CHANGE

Starts With You

We are raising awareness and donations after losing our family members to Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

Welcome to CCA Rocks, where we make a difference, one rock at a time! Our mission is to raise funds and awareness for colorectal cancer through a nationwide rock painting initiative. Each rock you find or create helps support the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (CCA) and brings us closer to our goal.

If you find a rock, keep it, or hide it again! Snap a photo and share it on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok using the hashtag #CCARocks. Lose a family member to Colon Cancer, or are you fighting or fighting alongside someone else? Be sure to share that, too! Let’s build a community and connect.

Want to contribute? You can make a donation here and include “CCARocks” in the memo.

Ready to get involved? It’s simple! Paint some rocks, add your personal touch, and attach our QR code to the back using epoxy or glue or write CCARocks.org #CCARocks. You can download our QR code sheet here and join the movement to make a real impact.

In recent years, we’ve seen a troubling rise in colon cancer rates, particularly among younger people. This increase is deeply personal for many families and communities, as it affects loved ones who might not have previously been considered at high risk. Despite advances in screening and treatment, the growing incidence of this disease highlights an urgent need for more research and support.

As we look to the future, it’s clear that increasing awareness and funding for colon cancer research are more crucial than ever. By coming together, we can drive progress in early detection, improve treatment options, and ultimately work towards reducing the impact of this challenging disease. Your support is vital in this fight, helping to change the trajectory and offer hope to those affected by colon cancer.

Founders Katie Kuceyeski, Sarah Kuceyeski, and Brandi Lowery lost family members to stage IV Colon Cancer. This initiative has been a great way to both grieve and make a difference. We love to include our children in projects, and adding in trail rocks has been an inclusive, intergenerational way to remember those we’ve lost.

About Us

Sandy left us in the fall of 2022, after a brave and difficult fight with stage IV colon cancer. Just over a year before, she received the shocking diagnosis—one that came out of the blue, given her generally good health and vibrant life. Even though the news was overwhelming, Sandy faced her treatment with incredible strength and positivity. She was surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends every step of the way.

She began with surgery and went through numerous rounds of chemotherapy, tackling each challenge with grace. Ultimately, her body could no longer sustain her, and she passed away peacefully at home. The depth of our loss is hard to put into words, and the grief we feel will linger for many years.

Sandy's laughter was a bright spot for everyone around her, and her willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need was truly inspiring. Her love for her husband, children, and grandson was evident in everything she did. We will miss her deeply, and her memory will stay with us always.

CCARocks is a way for us to remember her, to teach others about Colon Cancer, and to raise money where it’s needed most: research for a cure.

SANDY KUCEYESKI

Ashley left our world in June 2024 after a fierce 10 month battle against Stage IV Colon Cancer. She was only 31, beginning her life as a wife and mother. She left behind her husband, Corbin, and two sons under two, Decker & Cade.

Ashley was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns while still a teenager. It was a difficult diagnosis, but she handled it with stride. In June 2023, she gave birth to her second child and shortly after started struggling with Crohns flareups. She was struggling to eat, lost extreme weight and in frequent pain.  After two bowel obstructions and a colonoscopy, it was determined she had Stage IV Colon Cancer.

Unfortunately, the colonoscopy was the first in almost ten years, which is not recommended for patients with Crohns or UC. Ashley frequently asked at her annual visits if she needed a colonoscopy and was consistently told no. Had she had more frequent colonoscopies, it may have been caught earlier and she may still be here with her young sons.

When Ashley was diagnosed, she began fighting in any way she could, determined to live. And she also became passionate about sharing her story and about how important colonoscopies and taking charge of your health was. Even through radiation, chemotherapy, surgeries, and constant pain, she continued be an advocate to help prevent others from such a catastrophic diagnosis.

We hope that with CCArocks we can continue fight in her name to spread awareness, increase prevention and most importantly, raise money to help find a CURE.
